Dr. Gabrielle Bibas
I was born, raised and educated in Montreal. I completed a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy at McGill University. I then went to medical school at Université de Montréal, where I graduated in 2015. I moved across the country to beautiful British Columbia for my residency in Pediatrics at UBC, which I completed in 2019. During my residency, I was Associate Chief and then Chief Resident, and was involved in teaching, curriculum building, peer support and various leadership roles I also had the wonderful opportunity of spending 3 months on a clinical elective in Gaborone, Botswana.
In addition to my clinic work at Fairmont Pediatrics, I am a pediatrician in the Complex Care Program at BC Children’s Hospital and, in the maternity unit and ICU at St. Paul’s Hospital. I am involved in teaching medical students and residents in clinical setting. I truly love the diversity of the general pediatric practice, and working with children of all ages and stages.
When I am not working, I enjoy catching up with family and friends, FaceTiming with my adorable nephews, cooking and biking the seawall with my husband. I love to travel, whether it’s within BC, back home in Montreal or to explore a new country.
What do you love most about your job?
Children are greatest teachers, and I feel privileged and grateful to learn from them every day. They’re also incredibly cute and hilarious, which makes the learning even more fun!
